About Pictures & Players

\\ Then and now

Where it all began

Pictures & Players originally started in July of 1994 as a concert of original music by David Langley, which was featured at the 38th Annual Dogwood Dell Festival of the Arts in Richmond, VA. David grew up in the Kiss and Pink Floyd schools of showmanship, and the concert’s name and presentation showcased those influences; "Pictures" referred to projected imagery and lighting effects that were used on stage, and "Players" referred to the musicians performing, including David. After that performance, and because of the collaborative nature of media production, David decided that Pictures & Players was still an accurate description of his work, and the name stuck.
